ESL Teacher (Summer Camp)

Spend the summer of a lifetime working with international youth at Tamwood International Camps! Tamwood International Camps offers young people between the ages of 7 and 17 the chance to learn English in a welcoming, fun environment as well as the option to try activities like sports, arts & crafts and more. Our campers will enjoy sightseeing excursions, dance parties, talent shows, adventure races, and other events guaranteed to be fun! Campers will develop new skills like decision making, independence, and the ability to try new things. Campers will make friends from around the world and create memories that will last a lifetime. Teaching responsibilities: • Planning and delivery of daily ESL lessons and activities to campers as required using the Tamwood International Camp curriculum, including regular testing; • All class preparation, including preparation of all resources, materials for lessons and activities; • Professional student and classroom management consisting of the following: supervise students during recess breaks and any other non-classroom time; maintain an “English Only” policy in your classroom and throughout the camp day; attend all meetings as scheduled; prepare weekly class journals, attendance records, progress reports, and graduation certificates; adherence to the policies and regulations as laid out in the ESL Teacher Handbook; • Report directly to the Head Teacher and to the Camp Director. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday from 8:45am to 12:30pm and from 1:45pm to 5:15pm. Contract length: The contract period will be from late June to Mid-August; Camp period will be from July 1 to August 10
Requirements
Desired Qualifications • Undergraduate degree in Education or other relevant disciplines preferably with 2nd language teaching experience • A TESOL Certificate • A valid First Aid - CPR C certification • Extensive experience working with children and supervising staff • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Ability to maintain accurate records and attention to detail • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, ability to work independently and within a team • Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and to meet deadlines • MS Office experience (advanced excel and word) • Previous Tamwood teaching experience is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, preferably with 2nd language teaching experience or TESOL or Bachelor’s degree in any field plus TESOL certified
